INDIA:

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched online medical tourism packages for consumers to broaden the scope of its travel and tourism operations.

To provide medical value, travel as well as travel to provide a holistic experience of various other elements like post-treatment travel and accommodation arrangements, road transfers, and optional wellness packages, IRCTC has partnered with a medico-technical online services company on a pilot basis. This company will supply the entire back-end services to the customers availing various medical and wellness packages.

With the help of a sizable network of contracted hospitals, nursing homes, and diagnostic centers as well as its technical partners, it provides medical treatment and wellness packages to its clients at fairly competitive pricing.

How to Use IRCTC Medical Tourism Services

To use medical tourism services, a customer must first check in to the IRCTC's tourism site at www.irctctourism.com/MedicalTourism and complete a brief inquiry form outlining their medical needs.

After receiving the query, a member of the IRCTC team will call the customer and discuss possible treatments for the condition based on their preferences and financial capabilities. They will also give them the option to proceed with the treatment and take care of all the follow-up preparations.

Through its network of offices across all of India, the company is tackling its medical tourism activities vigorously. It has also organized a product sensitization session for its officials and staff members operating in different regional offices.

The Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) reports that 6.97 lakh medical tourists received treatment in India in 2019 alone. India will hold 6% of the worldwide medical value tourism (MVT) market share by 2023.

With the presence of medical facilities including hospitals, nursing homes, and diagnostic centers rapidly expanding across the nation, it is thought necessary to aid and advise clients in choosing the best medical facilities for their conditions based on their preferences, price, and convenience.
