KUALA LUMPUR:

Malaysia has five golf courses on the list of the Top 100 Golf Courses in Asia Award 2021.

The fifth annual award presentation was held last week in Wanning City, Hainan province, China, and was organized by Golf Travel Magazine, a popular magazine for golfers in China and South Korea.

Golf courses are evaluated using benchmarks and reader feedback on shot values, playability, scoring resistance, design variety, aesthetics, memorability, and ambiance.

Five Malaysian golf courses were ranked among the top 100 in Asia, including the Tournament Players Club (TPC) Kuala Lumpur (21st), The Els Club Teluk Datai, Langkawi (51st), The Mines Resort & Golf Club, Selangor (73rd), Forest City Golf Resort, Johor (78th), and Kota Permai Golf & Country Club, Selangor (79th).

The winners' awards were recognized on their behalf by the director of the Tourism Malaysia Office in Guangzhou. Tourism Malaysia – Guangzhou was also one of the ceremony's sponsors.

The third Top 100 Golf Courses in Asia Award 2019 took place in 2019 at Forest City Golf Resort in Johor, Malaysia.

Malaysia recorded 26.1 million tourist arrivals and MYR86.14 billion in tourist receipts in 2019, placing it among the world's top tourism destinations.
