The Melaka government is active in promoting a 'Dream Now, Travel Later' tourism campaign to revitalize the tourism sector affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Datuk Muhamad Jailani Khamis, Chairman of the State Tourism, Heritage and Culture Committee, stated that from 1 June to 31 December, the campaign could be reached through the 'Melaka eXcess' online platform which can be downloaded at the Google Play and App Store.

He said the campaign allows several local tourism players to offer discounted ticket prices for their destinations, products and services starting at 10 percent.

“To date, 80 tourism sector operators in Melaka have registered under the Melaka eXcess application and we are expecting many more to follow suit in the near future to promote their products or services,” he told reporters after presenting food kit aid to 350 registered Melaka trishaw riders .

Commenting further, Jailani said among the tourism destinations participating in the campaign are Melaka Wonderland, Crocodile Park, River Cruise, Zoo Melaka, Taming Sari Tower, Mamee Jonker House and Toy Museum as well as Melaka Sentral and Panorama Melaka.

He said tourists who have purchased tickets through the application are eligible for lucky draw, which offers different awards, such as Perodua Alza and a total of RM 5 million in credit return.
