SARAWAK:

When international tourists return to Malaysia later this year, Sarawak's North Gateway is offering the new Miri Sunset Cruise, a distinctive product for tourism.

For the time being, domestic visitors and Malaysian residents who are able to visit Sarawak and explore Miri are enjoying the four-hour sail to nowhere.

Sunset cruises exploring the South China Sea's coastal waters offer guests a spectacular view over the coasts of Miri and its forested countryside.

The package is perfect for business and incentive groups visiting Miri. The four-hour cruise also include snacks and drinks, and even an opportunity to try your hand at fishing.

Cruises traversing the Water Village, Miri Waterfront, Pullman Hotel Miri and Marina Bay depart from Miri River estuary in 1600 to open sea, passing the water. The newly constructed Miri city hall Oil Barrel and the nearby bronze statue of Coca Cabana's City mascot, 70 metres high, are two stunning monuments which are worthy of a selfie photo.

The picturesque "Beverly Hills of Miri" with its sophisticated mansions are also of particular interest. The town entrepreneurs show clearly signs of abundance and success.

The cruise approaches the famous SIWA Oil Rig from the river channel in the coasts of the southern Chinese Sea.

The decommissioned oil platform is now being used to promote the growth of underwater marine life. The snacks and drinks are then served, and it's time to enjoy the sunset views and the beauty of Miri's coastal waters. By 2000, the cruise will have returned to its riverside jetty.

The 45-foot boat is a fully licenced maritime craft, which is fitted with a certified marine navigation system, satellite communication and safety device.

The four-hour sunset ride on the South China Sea is priced at the MYR RM180 per person (based on up to 10 passengers and available for reservation by the Miri, Sarawak, agency Brighton Travel & Tour.
