ARAU:

The most recent tourist attractions in Arau are the monument and two Heritage Buildings.

A privately-owned firm, Ummul Travel Sdn Bhd, designed the monument and houses at a cost of about RM400,000.

The monument was built on the site of an old railway station owned by the Railway Assets Company (RAC) by its Managing Director  Rizwan Ahamad Badruddin.

“The monument was built in honor of the Raja of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail, who has ruled the state for two decades,” he told reporters at the launching ceremony of the two-decade reign of the Raja of Perlis.

The ceremony was launched by the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, and was attended by the Raja Puan Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil.
