Registered homestay operators in Sabah are eligible for RM20,000 fund

Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Christina Liew urged licensed homestay operators in Sabah to apply for the fund RM20,000 from the State Government. under Sabah Tourism, Culture and the Environment Ministry for upgrading purposes.

"We will process the applications when we receive them from licensed homestay operators," Liew, who is also Sabah Tourism, Culture, and Environment Minister, said this in a statement.

The funding for minor projects related to tourism was announced by Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal under a special grant of RM 10 million for the rehabilitation of homestay and Community-based tourism items under the Sabah New Deal.

The Qualified Operators of Homestays have been certified and registered by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC).

The MOTAC Certification Committee represents Sabah Tourism, Culture, and Environment Ministry and the Sabah Tourism Board.
