SABAH:

Sabah is hoping to showcase its community-based tourism and cuisine for the festival-goers at Kuching Waterfront here.

Sabah Tourism Board chief executive officer Noredah Othman encouraged visitors to visit the board's booth during the Citrawarna Keluarga Malaysia 2022 festival, themed Festival of Cultural Diversity.

During the four-day festival which begins today, the board is participating in two segments.

It will highlight community-based tourism through its tourism associations and traditional cuisines in collaboration with a Sabahan chef and Grand Margherita Hotel, Kuching.

"As the current tourism scenario in Malaysia focuses on domestic travel, this is a good opportunity to showcase destinations beyond Kota Kinabalu.

"Sabah Tourism started developing and promoting community-based tourism in 2014 and to date, 26 districts have established tourism committees to help develop and sustain tourist activities in their respective areas.

"As we are also promoting the state's traditional cuisines, we are also proud to bring one of its finest chefs, Alesandra Paut, who specialises in authentic Sabah traditional food," she said in a statement and urged festival-goers to visit their booth.
