The Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) has created EASE UP, an attractive package of financial and in-kind incentives to woo the Singapore MICE market as it rebuilds the MICE industry in the wake of the pandemic.
Aimed at attracting international corporate meeting and incentive events, EASE UP is a collaborative financial grant offering up to THB1,500 per person or a dining experience of up to THB 300,000 per event.
Participating DMC partners support with complimentary airport transfer and local experience, sightseeing or CSR team building activities for up to 20 delegates. For up to 20 paying guest rooms booked, participating hotels will match the same number with complimentary guestrooms.
For the TCEB grant, applications are open until 30 August 2021 for events taking place not later than 30 September 2021. Application for support must be submitted to TCEB a month prior to the event.

This initiative for international MICE visitors follows the domestic push held in September 2020. According to TCEB, “Thailand has consistently been globally recognised as one of the top 10 MICE and leisure destinations in the world.
The economic impact of MICE (meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) for economic recovery and income generation, cannot be underestimated. MICE activities account for 3.27%% of our GDP.”
EASE UP ratifies the I M People Focused (Incentives Meetings People Focused) campaign, launched in June 2020, to ensure the success of the business events industry with a people-centric focus.
In 2019, TCEB recorded a total of 1,273,981 MICE visitors to Thailand with Singapore ranking in the top five sources of Asian MICE visitors to Thailand.
Melvyn Yap, Director for Thread Asia/Singapore representative for TCEB commented, “Thailand has long been a very popular destination for the Singapore market whether it’s for business or for pleasure. With the gradual opening of borders and year-round convenient air access, we are confident that the Singapore MICE visitors will be back to Thailand in no time. The EASE UP grant is a strong signal to get the market moving again.”
