MALAYSIA:

With the "Bah, Mari Pigi Sabah & Labuan Roadshow 2023," Tourism Malaysia is continuing its promotional efforts after the success of the My Destination Sabah & Labuan Meet Johor and Putrajaya Roadshow last year.
The program's slogan, "Sustaining Tourism for Our Future," calls attention to the tourism industry, expat communities, and students at private higher education institutions and foreign schools in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Putrajaya.
34 delegates from Sabah and Labuan participated in the event, which was organized in partnership with the Sabah Tourism Board and Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) as strategic partners. The tour operators Borneo Excursions AHSB Rentacar Sdn Bhd, Borneo Sandakan Tours & Travel, Camp Borneo Travel and Tours Sdn Bhd, Intrepid Tours & Travel, TYK Adventure Tours Sdn Bhd, YTL Gaya Island Resort, Malaysia
The target audience for the previous roadshow, which concentrated on B2B and destination update sessions and targeted the travel industry in West Malaysia, was changed this year, according to Shahrin Mokhtar, director of the package development division, who was speaking on behalf of Tourism Malaysia director-general Dato Dr. Ammar Abd Ghapar.
In line with Tourism Malaysia's new focus on promoting Malaysia as the most recognizable must-visit ecotourism destination in the world, this roadshow aims to promote community- based and rural tourism destinations, products, and packages in Sabah and Labuan. It also aims to raise awareness among the target audience about sustainable tourism.
Unquestionably, now is the ideal time to step up Tourism Malaysia's efforts to promote the Visit Malaysia Year in 2025 to hit the goal of 23.5 million foreign visitors and generate the anticipated MYR76.8 billion in income, the minister continued.
Shahrin Mokhtar, director of Tourism Malaysia's package development section, presided over the ceremony. Additionally present were Trecey J. Tojuka, Deputy Director of Tourism Malaysia Sabah; Ahmad Johanif Mohd Ali, Senior Deputy Director of Domestic & Event Division of Tourism Malaysia; Azmi Abdullah, Director of Tourism Malaysia Central Region; and Zarinah Amiluddin, Marketing Manager of Sabah Tourism Board and Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG).
