MALAYSIA:

Claims that alcohol and pork were consumed on the office premises have been denied by Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture Tiong King Sing.

He also issued a challenge to the unidentified critic to come forward and rectify the problem, expressing his confusion and irritation at the vicious nature of the charges.

"I challenge and urge those who harbor certain agendas not to hide behind their keyboards to spread rumors and slanders." He said in a press release.

The rumors, which were spread through WhatsApp messages, claimed inappropriate behavior, such as drinking alcohol and eating pork at work, along with accusations of disdain for public employees.

Tiong attributed these unfounded allegations to an unidentified accuser who allegedly worked for the Health Ministry.

He did not rule out taking legal action but instead invited the accuser to come forward and discuss the issue immediately within the next two weeks.

Tiong added that people who use the dishes typically clean them; the office does not have designated cleaners.

He also highlighted the importance of maintaining a regular meal schedule at the office, which usually consisted of Putrajaya hotel restaurants while having foreign guests and local foods otherwise.

He said that presents including alcohol were accepted as long as they were handled discreetly and weren't personal property.

"It would be extremely improper for me to take these gifts home, but as a public office representative, I am unable to decline them. We make every effort to pass them forward to other beneficiaries, including foreign officers or guests, at informal gatherings like dinners. "What's wrong with everything?" he questioned.

He asked people to avoid stirring up racial tensions and to avoid using delicate topics for personal advantage.
