Wired Music Week (WMW) to take place in March

Wired Music Week (WMW), Asia’s largest electronic music conference and festival will take place from March 12 to 15 in Zouk Genting, featuring a roster of acclaimed electronic music industry giants.

This year, they are centering the event around the theme of ‘sustainability’ within all aspects of the electronic music industry worldwide.

Party headliners such as Laidback Luke, Markus Schulz, Arkham Nights and Nakadia collaborate with industry figures, including Steen Van Dijken (Revealed Recordings), Jacob Merlin (1001tracklists), Robin Leembruggen (Liquid State), Paul Neuteboom (BrotherHood Music, China), David Luce, Erik Leenders (David Lewis Management) and many more for this third instalment of WMW.

Among the myriad of topics it will explore will be subjects such as “Radio In A Streaming Age” to discuss the sustainability of radio airplay against the rise of digital streaming platforms, “The Evolution of The DJ and Production Industry Over The Past Two Decades”, and “Music Festivals: Make, Break or Sustain” to take a look at a music promoters’ role in contributing to environmental sustainability, among others.

There will also be WMW’s new pillar — Wired Black — which will focus on the growth and expansion of the underground electronic music scene. Wired Black will be taking over FUHU Genting and Empire, Zouk Genting, for one day during WMW 2020 on March 13.

Topics such as “Young & Thirsty: The Art of Moving The Young Over To The Underground” as well as an in-depth look into the trajectory for aspiring independent musicians with “From Nothing To Something Big: From Bedroom DJs to Warehouse Parties” and “The Evolution Revolution” are among the expected highlights, with more to be expected.

Another new pillar that will be introduced in WMW 2020 is Connect: China, aimed at bridging Chinese electronic music industry with the rest of Asia.

Conference attendees will also get the chance to learn from the best with WMW’s workshops featuring key players in the global industry.

Attendees can expect a line-up of international DJ acts, including the likes of Laidback Luke, Markus Schulz, Arkham Knights, Irwan, Nakadia, Dexter King, Ailia, Izzi and more, joining local Djs to set the dance floors of Zouk Genting ablaze with their electrifying sets for the after parties.
