PENANG:

iNPenang, which was founded in 2006, has been a vocal advocate for Penang as a top location for travel, investment, and residence.
Today, CHTNetwork celebrated the publication of its 100th issue of iNPenang magazine with a luncheon at St. Giles The Wembley Hotel.
The 100th volume (special edition), according to iNPenang's founder and editor-in-chief Datuk Chng Huck Theng, honours the company's dedication to Penang and its tourists.
We appreciate Penang Institute's cooperation in publishing Dr Beh May Ting's paper in this special edition, as well as the leadership of the organization, Datuk Dr. Ooi Kee Beng.
We are thrilled to announce the release of our stylish iNPenang magazine (Vol. 101). Additionally, he stated in his speech, "Our iNPenang Best Guide 2024 series will now be a regular focus, celebrating the best of Penang in every issue.
Chng emphasized the state's strengths in tourism and manufacturing while hammering home the need to preserve its rich cultural legacy.
Over the past 18 years, iNPenang has been a beacon, providing insights into Penang's culture, legacy, and innovation, according to Wong Hon Wai, chairman of the Penang Tourism and Creative Economy Committee.
"Today, as we commemorate the publication of its 100th special edition, we are honouring the enduring legacy of a publication that has been instrumental in showcasing the best of Penang to the world. We are not just celebrating a numerical achievement."
There is more to the special edition than just its quantity. It is the result of years of enthusiasm, hard work, and outstanding journalism, and it is proof of the iNPenang team's constant commitment to providing its readers with high-quality information.
"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the entire iNPenang team for their tireless efforts in making this special edition a reality.
"During his speech, Wong stated that their endeavours have not only influenced the story of our state but have also played a major role in boosting business and tourism in our area."
According to Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, iNPenang is essential to comprehending the rich history, goals, and aspirations of the state.
"The newspaper has chronicled Penang's incredible ascent to prominence on the international scene, notably in the booming manufacturing domains of semiconductors and electrical and electronics (E&E) as well as the rapidly expanding tourism sector.
"Over the past ten years, Penang has continuously contributed to the country's annual gross domestic product (GDP) growth, despite its modest size in comparison to other states.
Penang has been the country's top investor destination, bringing in a record-breaking RM71.9 billion in 2023. In his address today, Chow announced the launch of iNPenang's 100th issue and
foreign direct investments (FDIs), accounting for an impressive RM61.7 billion or 85.8% of Penang's manufacturing investment inflows," Chow stated.
Penang, he continued, has a great deal of potential to help Malaysia become a high-income nation, even in the face of obstacles from uncertain international markets and regional geopolitics.
Penang is a world leader in back-end chip production, having led the E&E and semiconductor sectors for more than 50 years.
In addition, the state is home to a thriving cluster of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and a growing ecosystem of regional digital startups.
"Penang must seize opportunities in front-end chip manufacturing, implement ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices, and give priority to digitalization to navigate the competitive landscape shaped by the strategic competition between the United States and China." Penang may accelerate Malaysia's transition to a high-income status by doing this, according to Chow.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed on the occasion by iNPenang and Filmflix Studio. Chow was in attendance for the signing event.
The goal of iNPenang and Filmflix Studio's travel documentary series was to showcase Penang as a top tourist destination.
Chow commended Filmflix Studio and iNPenang for their partnership.
Acknowledging iNPenang's accomplishments and dedication to community service, he stated, "This partnership represents a proactive approach to promoting Penang to a wider audience."
The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers Penang (FMM Penang) chairman Datuk Seri Lee Teong Li, Penang Institute executive director Datuk Dr Ooi Kee Beng, Penang Institute president Tan Sri Dr Mohd Yusoff Latiff, Penang Chinese Town Hall chairman Tan Sri Tan Khoon Hai, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (Penang office) director Dr Annuar Mohamed, Tourism Malaysia (northern region) regional director Shahrul Aman Sabir Ahmad, Penang Global Tourism chief executive officer Ooi Chok Yan, and Filmflix Studio chief executive officer Ramakrishna Karunagaran were among the prominent industry figures in attendance.
