CAMBODIA:

The Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Azerbaijan will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on tourism cooperation and connectivity between the two countries.

Sok Soken, Minister of Tourism and Shovgi Mehdizada, Ambassador of Azerbaijan with residence in Hanoi, Viet Nam agreed to promote the signing of the MoU in the near future, during their meeting here on 22 March 2024, according to the Ministry of Tourism.

Ambassador appreciated the development of Cambodia’s tourism sector and requested Minister to share experiences on the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB), the National Institute of Tourism and the Vocational School of Tourism.

As 2024 marks the 30th Anniversary of Cambodia-Azerbaijan Diplomatic Relations, Ambassador requested H.E. Minister to cooperate in organising various events to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations and to promote the flow of tourism.

On the same day, Sok Soken also received Arnaud Sonnet, Co-founder of the “Travel Tomorrow” media platform and Co-Producer of the Documentary “Embarquement” broadcasted on TV5 Monde, to examine opportunities for the cooperation in promoting Cambodia’s tourism destinations to the world.

According to Arnaud Sonnet, “Travel Tomorrow” is a leading global online media platform in Europe that promotes travel and tourism, and the documentary “Embarquement” is a popular series on TV5 Monde that offers detailed highlights of cultures and traditions of lesser-known tourism destinations to audiences around the world.

Noting this potential, Minister indicated the possibility for cooperation in promoting Cambodia as a top priority tourism destination through the “Travel Tomorrow” media platform and “Embarquement” documentaries.
