Kampot’s seahorse statue continues to attract more national and international tourists

From May 9 to 10, 2024, Soy Sinol, Director of the Kampot Provincial Department of Tourism, said that the sea horse statue in Kampot City, Kampot Province, is continuing to attract more and more national and international tourists to visit.

The director of the provincial tourism department added that after Kampot province built the statue of the sea horse spraying water, national and international tourists came to visit from Khmer New Year to the current increase from 70,000 to more than 110,000 people.

Sinol continued that, especially tourists from distant provinces who want to know and want to see with their own eyes the sea horses spraying water in Kampot, which is attracting a lot of attention from the masses in other provinces as well.

The director of the department said that, especially on Saturdays and Sundays, many national and international tourists come to visit, despite the hot weather. He observed that tourists continue to travel from faraway provinces, especially from Phnom Penh, to Kampot to take pictures at various resorts, especially to see the sea horses in front of the old Kampot Provincial Hall.

On the way to 39 tourist destinations in Kampot province, such as Bokor Mountain, Nataya tourist area, Teuk Chhou resort, Trapeang Sangke community, and many other tourist destinations, but during this time, the masses rushed to take pictures of the beautiful sea horses in front of Kampot Provincial Hall. Due to its fame, it is noted that Kampot really has a steady increase in tourists from year to year.

At the same time, Sinol said that in the geographical area of Kampot province, which are all important tourist destinations, the Kampot provincial administration has been paying attention to improving the beauty to be more prominent to increase the potential of this tourism province to grow to another level as the second tourist destination of Kampot.
