Lata Changkah will have a new look when the renovation of the facility at the recreation center is almost in its final phase and is expected to be completed shortly.

State Legislative Assembly (DUN) coordinator Ustaz Zul Bhari A Rahman said work on facilities such as dressing rooms, toilets, and surau are almost completed as planned.

“When it is ready, it will provide the visitors with the opportunity to organize themselves more comfortably and have a prayer at the surau here.

“If we had previously looked at the toilet, the surau was not being well managed, with garbage and hygiene not being kept. So after this, we hope that all the visitors who come together take care of this place, God willing, ”he said.

He said he had been on a visit and had been reviewing the work being done here with Kampung Seladang Village Village Council (MPKK) chairman Azman Abdullah.

In July last year, the state Tourism, Culture and Information Technology Committee chairman, Ariffin Deraman approved an immediate allocation of RM60,000 to repair infrastructure at two recreational sites, Lata Pangk and Lata Umbrella.

Ariffin said it was in line with the state government's desire to resolve some of the tourist center facilities issues that were a complaint to visitors.

“In the short term, immediate provision for infrastructure upgrades in Lata Changkah and Lata Umbrella will involve all the departments at the district level to make this a success.

"We (the government) will also work with the district offices and district councils and the tourism department will formulate strategies and long-term plans with a budget of over RM1 million," he said.

Lata Changkah is one of the main tourist destinations of domestic and foreign visitors especially on weekends and public holidays due to its beautiful surroundings.
