Malaysia holds roadshow to promote tourism

With an aim to promote tourism in Oman, Tourism Malaysia held a roadshow and several B2B meetings with the presence of 23 Malaysian companies comprising hotels and travel agents, in Muscat on Sunday.

The visiting team showcased the diverse travel offerings available across Malaysia, with a special emphasis on the enchanting cityscape of Kuala Lumpur and other cities.

Showcasing the latest tourism products and services, the organisers envisioned reignition of interest in tourism between Oman and Malaysia.

Highlighting the significance of the bilateral ties between the two countries, H E Shaiful Anuar Mohammad, the Ambassador of Malaysia to Oman, said, “We are dedicatedly working towards rekindling the vibrant tourism exchanges of the pre-pandemic era.

“As the world gradually emerges from the shadows of the pandemic, endeavours like the Tourism Malaysia roadshow underscore a collective effort to revive the tourism sector,” the Ambassador said, stressing that “with a rich tapestry of cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and unparalleled hospitality, Malaysia stands poised to reclaim its status as a premier tourist destination on the global stage”.

Malaysia received over 18,000 visitors from the Arab world in 2023, including nearly 2,500 from Oman. With the direct flights to Kuala Lumpur operated by Oman Air and Salam Air, travelling between Oman and Malaysia became easier.
