DOHA:

A new marketing strategy has been introduced by Qatar Airways, which gives customers maximum flexibility for their travel plans.

The option of adjusting their travel plans without cost by altering the dates of their booking or swapping tickets with a voucher valid one year will be granted to passengers that have booked or book flights up to 30 June 2020.

This commercial approach is intended to ensure trust and tranquillity for passengers of Qatar Airways as they book flights in light of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and its impact on global travel.

The protection, safety and good health of our passengers and employees is their top priority, said His Excellency Mr Ak bar Al Bakar, Qatar Airways Chief Executive

"While maintaining high hygiene standards during our operations, we understand that certain passengers may wish to change their existing plans", he said .

As an airline Qatar Airways ensures the highest possible level of hygiene, including routine aircraft disinfection, cleaning products approved by IATA and the World Health Organization (WHO), and rigorous training for workers.

In addition, Qatar Airways features state-of - the-art air filtration systems fitted with HEPA filters of industrial sizes that eliminate 99,97 percent of recirculating air viral and bacterial contaminants to provide the most effective protection against infection.

All the linens and blankets on board the airline are washed, dried and pressed at lethal microbial temperatures, with headphones separated from the ear and rigorously sanitized in every flight. Then the workers wearing hygienic disposable gloves lock these items in individual packaging.

Qatar Aircraft Catering Company (QACC) was the first organisation in the world to receive the Bureau Veritas certification of ISO22000:2018 with UKAS accreditation last year to uphold the highest standards of its Food Safety Management System. All meal utensils and cutlerys are washed with detergents and rinsed at temperatures that destroy pathogenic bacterials with demineralised fresh water.

Apart from Qatar's government Communications Office, the temporary suspension of entry from Thailand has no effect on transit through Hamad International Airport, and the operating schedule of the flights from Thailand is preserved.

Qatar Airways currently operates its hub, Hamad International Airport (HIA), with a new fleet of more than 250 aircraft, to over 170 destinations around the world.A host of exciting new destinations have been added to its growing world airline network last year, including Rabat, Morocco, Izmir, Turkey and Malta, Davao Philippines, Lisbon, Portugal and Mogadishu, Somalia.
