The much-anticipated Kecik-Kecik Group Show is set to make a vibrant return to Penang, offering a platform that celebrates Malaysian contemporary art while making it accessible to a wider audience. Organised by Penang Art District, this year’s edition will take place from 6 to 9 June 2025 at the iconic Hin Bus Depot, with an even stronger focus on inclusivity and affordability.

The Kecik-Kecik Group Show continues its mission of bringing art closer to the public, offering a curated selection of artworks priced at RM2,000 and below. This initiative not only makes art ownership a reality for more Malaysians but also empowers both emerging and established local artists to showcase their creativity.

“We’ve seen how the Kecik-Kecik series has evolved from a modest community exhibition into a meaningful platform that’s breaking down barriers in the local art scene,” said Kenny Ng, General Manager of Penang Art District. “This year, we’re deepening that commitment to accessibility, representation, and cultural diversity.”

Adding to the excitement, Kecik-Kecik 2025 will once again collaborate with Arteesan.io, integrating digital Certificates of Authenticity for every exhibited artwork. This ensures enhanced provenance tracking, ownership verification, and greater protection for artists and collectors alike.

The call for artist submissions is now open, inviting both emerging talents and established artists to submit their works for consideration. The exhibition promises to attract a diverse and enthusiastic audience, fostering a culture of art appreciation and community engagement in Malaysia.
