MALAYSIA:

The Islamic Tourism Centre (ITC) is offering free online training sessions throughout the holy month of Ramadan. These virtual seminars will be streamed every Thursday on ITC’s official Facebook and YouTube channel.

ITC, in a statement posted online, said these training sessions will feature “prominent speakers in the halal tourism and Islamic-related industries”.

Some of the topics which will be covered include halal certification, Muslim tourists’ needs, and requirements, the concept of halal and haram in travel as well as Islamic branding and marketing. The webinars will be conducted in Bahasa Malaysia.

The ITC assists the Tourism, Arts, and Culture Ministry to promote Muslim-friendly and halal tourism in the country.

Malaysia is one the leading countries in Muslim-friendly tourism. Last year, the country took the top spot in the MasterCard-CrescentRating Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI) for the ninth year in a row.
