INDIA :

As a new tourist attraction, Ladakh will soon have a snow sculpture. Union Minister Jitendra Singh informed Ladakh Lieutenant Governor (LG), RK Mathur, about it on Monday, and added that a snow sculpture would be presented in Ladakh this winter. Locals will be able to find work as a result of the snow sculpture.

Ladakh will start the Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival in a few years, according to the LG, once snow art is well established in the province. On February 11, 2022, the Kangding Snow and Ice Sculpture Association, in collaboration with the Ladakh Police, held its first Ice and Snow Sculpture Workshop in Sangtakchan.

"I see no rationale in leaving Ladakh in the winters," the LG declared during the closing ceremony. Now is the moment to make money. My theory has always been that, while summers in Ladakh are wonderful, winters are even better."

He also singled out Ladakhi youth who are exceptionally gifted, particularly in the arts. The LG also stated that it will support and assist with the equipment required to create ice sculptures. Ladakh is also a priority for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, according to the Union Minister.
