KUALA LUMPUR:

Masjid Negara in Kuala Lumpur has been selected as the top tourist attraction in Malaysia by the Chinese people. According to a survey conducted by China's tourism portal, Mafengwo, three hotels, Le Apple Boutique Hotel KLCC, Traders Hotel KL, and Pacific Regency Hotel Suites were selected as the country's preferred tourist hospitality.

The recognition was presented by Mafengwo Senior Vice President Yu Zhuo to Masjid Negara’s Information Assistant Ahmad Faizal Azman today. Ahmad Faizal said 124,000 Chinese tourists visited the mosque in 2018.

“As of mid of this year alone, more than 100,000 Chinese tourists have visited the mosque, followed by Korean and Japanese tourists. They are usually curious about the history of the National Mosque and want some knowledge about Islam," he said.

He said this after the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Adfinity Media Sdn Bhd and mafengwo.com.
