MALAYSIA:

If a solution to the parking issue at that location is found, traffic congestion at a well-known tourist destination in Cameron Highlands may be reduced.

A. Dilip Martin, president of Regional Environmental Awareness Cameron Highlands (Reach), claimed that Kea Farm has a shortage of parking spots and that people park their cars alongside the road, which clogs up the road and affects neighbouring regions.

A new road from Habu to Tanah Rata, which was suggested during the rescheduling of the amended Budget 2023 in February of this year, according to Dilip, would not alleviate the problem.

"Congestion will still exist even if a new route has no parking spaces.
"The main issue is at Kea Farm, as traffic flow can be impacted until Tanah Rata," he stated.

He suggested that an old plan to construct a business park next to Kea Farm be reviewed by the federal or state governments of Pahang.

"I understand a piece of land has also been approved. It was requested in 2012.

"The business park would have a multi-story parking garage, retail space, restrooms, and surau.

"I understand the land that has been identified is a secondary forest area that is not near any hillslopes that could cause landslides," he stated.
