TAIWAN:

Entrusted with the responsibility of promoting tourism to the cosmopolitan island destination internationally, the Taiwan Tourism Administration has launched two new incentive programs aimed at increasing the number of foreign visitors.

These include a complimentary half-day tour for transit and transfer passengers and an on- arrival lucky draw competition where foreign visitors can compete to win cash prizes.

These initiatives are a part of the government's larger £9.7 billion (NT$380) post-pandemic economic retrieval package, which aims to highlight Taiwan's extensive tourism options while enhancing Taiwan's standing as a popular international travel destination.

Wang Kwo-tsai, the Minister of Transportation and Communications, publicly inaugurated a new fortunate draw competition to attract an increasing number of foreign visitors. The moniker for it was "Taiwan the Lucky Land." As part of this program, independent foreign visitors to Taiwan who want to stay between three to ninety days can enter an online competition and win £127 to help with their in-country expenses.

Eligible foreign visitors must register online at least 24 hours before their planned arrival and no later than seven days in advance to be admitted. Travelers can visit special locations within airport terminals to have their own QR code scanned upon arrival to find out if they have won or not.
