UAE looks into potential of tourism investment in Cambodia

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is looking into the potential of tourism investment opportunities in Cambodia.

The intention was highlighted by Dr Thani bin Ahmed AI Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirate during his meeting with Dr Thong Khon, Minister of Tourism here in Phnom Penh on Jun. 8.

Dr. Thani appreciated Cambodia’s rapid development in all sectors, especially in tourism.

Khon underlined Cambodia’s potential in tourism sector, stressing that the government encourages investment opportunities including the development of new tourism products to attract more international visitors.

He encouraged Dr Thani to get more detailed information especially on the government socio-economic development as well as tourism investment at the Cambodian embassy to UAE.

He also requested the UAE foreign trade minister to reconnect Cambodia-UAE direct flights for visitors from UEA to Cambodia, and to renew a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation since 2012, which is now expired.
