PHILIPPINES:

The Philippines has recently formed arrangements for travel bubbles with several countries in Asia with more nations opening their tourism borders.

Bong Benzon, Undersecretary of the Department for Tourism (DOT), stated that a framework has been created for the travel bubble program. He did not however confirm the date when that programme will begin and which countries will have travel corridors in the Philippines.
For its best destinations, the Pearl of the Orient received many tourism awards. The Philippines is still limited to foreign travel. At present. Therefore, domestic tourism is a banking country.

Siargao was recently open for visitors in the Philippines' surfing capital, Boracay and Baguio, after the restart of the major destinations in October.

“All domestic destinations are open to all Filipinos. International traffic is still restricted. But we’re hoping that over time we’ll be able to increase the numbers of Filipinos moving around. Siargao is a gem of a destination,” Benzon said.

“We are confident in the next few months, with our focus on domestic tourism, will be able to generate enough income to tide us over as we go through this difficult time,” he added.

The tourism official said that domestic tourism accounts for approximately 80 to 85% of the overall income from tourism.
