NIBONG TEBAL:

The Jawi Community Service Center organized a cultural program called " Tamilar Tirunal" to promote the culture and traditional games of the Indians to the public.

The carnival is primarily intended to promote the Indian's history and culture to the public so that more young people can understand the culture and the characteristic of the Indian games.

Jawi assemblyman H'ng Mooi Iye said " this program is organized for the people to appreciate the culture and history of the Indians," he said.

"The purpose of the program is to re-ignite and inject into our ever-expanding traditions and culture as a result of modernization. I am very impressed that this program not only captures the Indian community but is the focus of a multiracial community throughout the Nibong Tebal parliament", he added

Free health checkups, health exhibitions, and free mammogram examinations were held in conjunction with the Penang Sihat Program. The Penang Hindu Endowment Board also held an exhibition.

The highlight of this event was climbing on the oiled soaked areca tree. The surface of the areca tree will be rubbed with grease to ensure that the areca is kept smooth. The State Flag was placed on top of the areca tree. The group that managed to bring down the flag was considered the winner. Players need a human form to make it easier for the last player to reach the top of the areca tree. Each group is given 15 minutes to reach the goal of the game. A team of players needs to have the skills and strategies to avoid injury.

The event was also supported by Nibong Tebal Parliament Member YB Dato Mansor Othman, Members of Jawi MPKK, and other several NGOs.
