KUALA LUMPUR:

To speed up digitization in line with the latest COVID-19 pandemic norm, the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) will organize its first and largest e-Dagang Expo (eDX) from 4 May to 8 May 2020.

During five days of the event, webinars and panel discussions are also being conducted on tips and strategies to make e-commerce effective which will take place across boundaries and inspiring achievements. This initiative aims to engage 500,000 micro-sellers, domestic businesses, and exporters in the benefits of e-commerce.

The sessions will be headlined by e-Commerce partners from MDEC such as Shopee, Lazada, Carousell, Alibaba, BliBli, and eBay, with the aim of bringing business off-line to online and exporting.

EDX aims to empower SMEs and aspiring business owners of all sizes from the learning to create an online store with simple everyday resources, lists their goods on eMarketplaces, and expands their sales domestically and globally, said MDEC in a statement.

Besides, participants will have an opportunity to benefit from e-commerce discounts through fire sales.

MDEC is committed to accelerating the adoption of eCommerce among local SMEs through its Go-eCommerce programmes. Registration will begin at 10 am on 1 May at www.go-ecommerce.my.
