Five staffs stationed at five main locations of Langkawi

Following the outbreak of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus Novel (2019-nCoV) that has hit various countries, including Malaysia, the Langkawi District Health Office has employed its staff in five locations to perform health screenings at tourists on the island.

The health staff are stationed at the Langkavi International airport (LTAB), the Kuah Ferry Terminals, Awana Porto Malais, and the Tanjung Lembung Pier, as well as to the Telaga Harbor Park, Langkawi Health Officer Dr Mohd Lutpiyudin Azidins said.

"In the LTAB, the thermal scanner is used for testing, while in the other four locations, the Kuah Ferry Terminal, Tanjung Lembong Wharf, Awana Porto Malai and Telaga Harbor Park are used for body temperature surveillance purposes," he said.

Meanwhile, LTAB President Jefry Ramli said four to five international flights arrive at the airport every day.

He said they are from Singapore by Scoot Airlines and Air Asia , Malindo Air from Chengdu, Kunming, Ningbo and Nanjing, China, Qatar Airways from Doha, Qatar and the UK-based TUI Airways.
