The three-city 'Incredible India Road Show’ was held at Shangri-La in Kuala Lumpur on 10th December 2019
The aim of this event was to position India as a preferred destination for Malaysian travelers and to provide a platform for the stakeholders of India’s tourism industry to interact with their Malaysian counterparts.
The roadshow witnessed a strong delegation of around 20 tour operators/ Destination Management Companies during the B2B Meetings at Kuala Lumpur to showcase India’s diverse tourism products and services.
The Indian tourism showed a promising outlook with an upward trend in Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs). India received around 10.56 million (provisional) FTAs in 2018 registering a growth of 5.2% over 2017. A total of 320,000 tourists from Malaysia visited India in 2017 registering a growth of 6.67%.
The Indian Ministry of Tourism has also taken the initiative of identifying, diversifying, developing and promoting upcoming niche tourism products.
India has a diverse number of unique products like Rural, Adventure, Eco, Wellness, Golf, MICE, Medical and Cruise Tourism. The government has recently opened 137 mountain peaks for mountaineering and trekking in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Sikkim.
After Malaysia, the Incredible India roadshow will take place in Bangkok on 12 Dec. The first roadshow was held in Singapore on 9 Dec.
