LAOS:

Both the public and business sectors in Laos are working hard to get ready for the arrival of Chinese tour groups.

According to Darany Phommavongsa, director general of the Tourism Management Department of the Lao Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism, "We are working in partnership with travel agencies, hotels, and other tourism-related businesses to improve facilities and services in readiness for the return of Chinese tour groups."

"To improve facilities and provide activities that will draw more Chinese tourists to Laos, we met with private enterprises. These processes will shortly be completed, "The official Friday informed the newspaper.

Millions of Chinese tourists are expected to travel to ASEAN nations, and many of them are expected to take the China-Laos Railway, which connects Vientiane, the capital of Yunnan province in southwest China, with Kunming.

More than a million Chinese people visited Laos in 2019 during the Visit Laos-China Year. "Our ministry is in the process of assessing and re-certifying hotels in Vientiane, assigning them different stars," Darany said in addition.

"The government is working to raise the caliber of hotel services in Laos, and this regrading of hotels is a part of that endeavor. Additionally, we are collaborating with the business sector to enhance hotel industry services and tourist attractions."

International media outlets including CNN, National Geographic, and the Telegraph have listed Laos as one of the top tourism destinations in the world for 2023.
