KUALA LUMPUR:

MedAire, the world's leading supplier of in-flight medical advice and assistance to commercial airlines, has launched pre-flight COVID-19 passenger screening services to improve air travel safety measures.

According to a statement, the screening is performed by on-site medical professionals before check-in at the original location and consists of a contact history questionnaire and a screening of symptoms like temperature.

This screening method is considered best practice in the industry today and will change as new screening, testing, or vaccination options become available.

MedAire is operating in a structured approach with airline clients to establish approaches, and the organization has introduced screening services at locations including London, Lima, Hong Kong, and Los Angeles to date.

MedAire now has airlines to help handle the passenger medical issues, including pre-flight fitness for flight tests, in-flight medical assistance, and the cabin crew medical training, complementing a validated medical advisory network.

The service is a further step towards reducing COVID-19 transmission by air and helping to restore flying confidence for today and potential flights.

"The norm for aviation is likely to be health screening, such as safety screening after 9-11. MedAire is prepared to provide solutions for the aviation industry as their needs grow, "said Bill Dolny, Managing Director of MedAire.
