MICE Industry expects to reopen in third to fourth quarters of 2021

KUALA LUMPUR :

ASEAN meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) players expect that from the third to fourth quarters of 2021 the industry will reopen to a more durable level.

Datuk Vincent Lim, President of the Malaysian Convention & Exhibition Association and suppliers (MACEOS), said that the improvement of public confidence is essential to re-booting industry badly affected by the pandemic restrictions put on COVID-19.

On the local front, Malaysia has launched many programs, including "Meet in Malaysia Campaign" to encourage domestic business event activity, which includes 2 simultaneous programs called the "Let's Meet Tomorrow" and the "Let's Meet Locally."

He said during a session of the Asia Community Building Pledge Community webinar titled 'ASEAN MICE: In uncharted waters' that MICE players are encouraged to build their own activities in order to bring more business to their local communities.
