Numerous programmes are in pipeline in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2020 (VM2020) campaign aligned with the State Government through the Sabah Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment. Datuk Christina Liew assured that her Ministry through the Sabah Tourism Board (STB) will continue to work hard in sustaining and increasing the arrivals to Sabah.
She said “In line with this effort, we will be participating in 22 travel, trade and consumer shows and fairs nationally and internationally in countries of our major target markets,”.
While officiating the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents’ (Matta) launching of Visit Malaysia Year 2020 at the Hilton Hotel’s main lobby entrance, on Saturday she said “Among targeted markets are ITB, Berlin, which is the world’s largest tourism trade fair, Matta Travel Fair, Diving and Resort Travel (DRT) Show Shanghai, Korea MyCEB) Roadshow (MyCEB stands for Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau), Thai International Travel Fair, Bangkok and World Travel Mart, UK.”
She added “Apart from that, we are also focusing on the emerging markets for Sabah such as India and the Middle East. We will be attending Satte in New Delhi, a leading B2B travel trade engagement show,”. For the Middle East, if all goes well, we will make our presence felt in the World Expo at Expo 2020 in Dubai”.
