Perak continues to intensify VM2020 Campaign

The state government will continue to intensify the aspect of state tourism to ensure that the Visit Malaysia Year 2020 (VM2020) will work out better.

Chairman of the Tourism, Arts & Culture Committee, Tan Kar Hing said Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir also stressed that VM2020 is a national agenda in which all states are involved.

“We welcome his suggestion and participate in this campaign to assist the federal government in realizing the target of 30 million foreign tourists arriving as well as RM100 billion in tourism revenue in conjunction with VM2020.

"The state government has also set the target for tourist accommodation numbers for tourists to record tourist attendance," he said.

According to Kar Hing, the number of passengers using the LTASA route also saw an increase compared to last year.

“The number of passengers registered during the year 2019 increased by 18.7 per cent, from 374,752 passengers from January to October compared to 2018 at 315,673 passengers at 15 per cent.
"The state government is also in the final phase of drafting various international programs this year," he said.
