Tourism Malaysia partners with backpackerz magazine for “Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Travel Wishlist 2021” competition

Tourism Malaysia has partnered with digital tourism magazine, Backpackerz to intensify the promotion of tourism digitization through the "Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Travel Wishlist 2021" Competition in an effort to revive domestic tourism.

The program under the Tourism Rehabilitation Plan was launched by YB Dato ’Sri Hajah Nancy Shukri, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia live on Backpackerz ‘s official Facebook page. The competition will be held for 17 days starting today, March 17, 2021, until April 2, 2021, and is open to all Malaysian citizens aged 18 years and above.

The first-place winner will receive a travel grant prize of RM4,000 cash and an Apple iPhone 12 mobile phone. The runner-up will take home RM3,000 cash along with a Sony Playstation 5 video game console, while the third-place winner will receive cash RM1,500 with Apple Airpods earphones. The top five entries in the competition will receive a consolation prize of RM300 cash.

The competition is part of Tourism Malaysia's initiative through the Cuti-Cuti Malaysia campaign to give Malaysians the opportunity to reveal their dream holiday destinations through the display of photos of interesting tourist destinations as well as creative writing of short stories on social media platforms.

The top three winners of the competition will have the opportunity to use the travel grant prizes for a holiday in the country as well as write their holiday experiences on Tourism Malaysia’s Facebook and Backpackerz within three months after inter-state activities are allowed again.

Meanwhile, Dato 'Sri Hajah Nancy in her speech called on Malaysians to always adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) set by the government, including the practice of new norms.
