YWP Hospitality attachment Program

Yayasan Wilayah Persekutuan  (YWP) has embarked on a joint effort with DHS Hospitality Academy the strategic partner of University Putra Malaysia Education & Training (UPMET) to offer career programs to place and provide job opportunities to youths in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya.  The program is intended to set out job opportunities promptly for candidates when they select the program.

The first year is a probationary period with hands-on learning on “REAL CAREER SKILLS” at Hospitality Organizations and Aviation Industry in Ground Operations. The program is a pragmatic program to provide the learner with the to focus on a trade within the Hospitality and associated Industry within Hospitality Industry. Tourism is vital for the growth of a country as people visit a place to experience the culture and places of interest.  Seeking local talent is a challenge because the information provided is scarce and Hospitality programs are expensive.

The YWP Hospitality attachment Program is unique as it assists all participants where the program registration fees are provided by YWP and during the attachment, the candidates are provided with a monthly allowance of RM 600.00 once they are placed with accommodation for the 1st two months and from the 3rd to the 6th Month, they are provided with the RM 600.00 and with a productivity allowance of RM 250.00 respectively. From the 7th Month to the 12th Month, the allowance would be RM 750.00 with a productivity allowance of RM 250.00 and the program Certification is fully sponsored with duty meals and the participants are not bonded with the respective companies. The participants are also monitored and guided during their attachment and upon successful completion of the program the students are entitled to a bonus of RM 600.00 and program certification from UPMET.

For the aviation sector the program would focus on Ground Operations and the allowance is RM 1500.00 with accommodation and duty meals. Participants would Labuan their air ticket would be refunded once they complete the duration of the program.

The objective of YWP Hospitality Attachment Program is to provide opportunities for families in the Federal Territory to seek employment towards the Hospitality Industry and to reduce the employment of foreign workers at hospitality premises in the Federal Territory.

The YWP Hospitality Attachment Program is also catered to the Homeless, Single Mothers, Physically Challenges Individuals, elderly individuals and for youths who have minor offences with the law.

DHS Hospitality Academy has been the pioneer in offering Hospitality placement programs for youths for programs in Malaysia and to undergo 6 months paid attachment in Singapore. DHS offers a total of 250 programs pertaining to the hospitality industry in various trades through the edu tech platform SKILLSPRO. Under the “YWP Hospitality Attachment Program”, a total of 2000 youths would be trained and provided with employability in the hospitality industry.

Under the YWP Hospitality Attachment Program, participants would be given RM 500.00 in financial assistance and the certification fees are fully sponsored. The program is offered to youths in Kuala Lumpur, Labuan and Putrajaya
