LADA comes up with economic recovery action plan

The LADA has established an Economic Recovery Action Plan to restore the island 's economy, which has suffered from the COVID-19 pandemic, and includes short, medium, and long term plans to restore the economy.

Dr. Hezri Adnan, Chief Executive Officer said the Strategy outlines three main thrusts, namely economic diversity, safe of tourism and local culture, and sustainability, backed by 10 implementation strategies. 

He said that the 10 strategies included aiding infection monitoring of COVID-19, reducing the impact on the population at risk, opening new economic opportunities, and recalibrating Langkawi as a safe, clean, and sustainable destination.

“LADA will promote Langkawi tourism by focusing and implementing fiscal measures to reduce the impact on the private sector," he told at a press conference at the LADA Complex.

He said that the plan is to be planned and implemented further through a commitment to tourism players from Langkawi and representatives from local communities.
