12 Financial Institution Involved In Tourism Financing Scheme fund

KUALA LUMPUR :

Twelve financial institutions are involved in the Tourism Financing Scheme Fund of the National Economic Regeneration Plan (PENJANA) which provides packaged options for small and medium-sized enterprises ( SMEs) in the tourism, arts, and culture industries.

This was one of those submitted to Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri by Bank Negara Malaysia ( BNM), governor Datuk Nor Shamsiah Mohd Yunus, when Nancy was courteously visited by Nor Shamsiah.

Nor Shamsiah also presented details of the fund during the meeting, to the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC).

"According to her (Nor Shamsiah), as soon as the announcement has been made, all banks involved will be ready to take action in respect of fund management,' according to the statement.

MOTAC Secretary-General Dr Noor Zari Hamat and the Top Executive Director of the Ministry also joined in the meeting.

According to the statement, it was important for MOTAC to work with BNM to understand the latest economic situation in the country, particularly the impact of tourism, arts, and cultural industries at this meeting.
