Johor Bahru:

Johor is setting the stage for a tourism renaissance with the official launch of the Visit Johor 2026 car sticker campaign, unveiled on Friday at the JDT Stadium, Johor Bahru.

The initiative, organised by the Johor Tourism Association (JTA) with the full support of Tourism Johor, marks the beginning of a high-impact campaign aligned with Visit Malaysia 2026. The car sticker serves as both a symbolic and strategic emblem, designed to boost visibility and spark curiosity among travellers. Thousands of vehicles across Malaysia and Singapore will soon display the sticker, transforming them into mobile ambassadors for Johor tourism.

Held at the home ground of the champion Johor Darul Ta’zim Football Club, the launch reflects a blend of local pride and regional ambition.

“Every car that bears this sticker becomes part of our movement — helping to drive awareness, create buzz, and build momentum,” said Col. Mohd Jamal Salleh, Chairman of JTA. “This is more than just branding. It is the start of an exciting journey to showcase Johor’s vibrant culture, rich heritage, stunning natural beauty, and world-class attractions.”

Diverse Tourism Offerings

From luxury beachfront resorts and heritage boutique hotels to glamping lodges and budget-friendly city stays, Johor caters to all travellers — honeymooners, solo explorers, golfers, families, and eco-adventurers alike.

The state also leads Malaysia in golf tourism, boasting the nation’s highest number of golf courses, including The Els Club Desaru Coast, Horizon Hills Golf & Country Club, Forest City Golf Resort, and Tanjong Puteri Golf & Resort — many designed by global legends such as Ernie Els, Jack Nicklaus, and Greg Norman.

Among Johor’s crown jewels is Desaru Coast, a world-class integrated beachfront destination featuring The Westin, Anantara, Hard Rock Hotel, a vibrant lifestyle village, the Desaru Coast Adventure Waterpark, and The Els Club Desaru Coast.

Meanwhile, Iskandar Puteri, Malaysia’s fastest-growing smart city, is home to LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort, SEA LIFE Aquarium, Puteri Harbour Marina, and a growing medical tourism hub — all within minutes from Singapore.

For nature lovers, Johor offers idyllic island getaways such as Pulau Rawa, Pulau Sibu, and Pulau Besar, as well as the lush Endau-Rompin National Park with its dense rainforest, waterfalls, rare wildlife, and indigenous culture.

Strong Connectivity

Johor’s strategic location is reinforced by its extensive maritime and land networks. Ferry terminals in Pengerang, Stulang Laut, Pasir Gudang and Desaru Coast link Johor with Singapore, Batam, and Bintan, while the upcoming Johor Bahru–Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link, scheduled for completion in 2026, will significantly ease cross-border congestion.

United Industry Support

The campaign has received strong backing from stakeholders including the Johor Golf Tourism Association (JGTA), Malaysian Budget Hotel Association (MyBHA), JOMStay Johor, Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), Malaysian Inbound Tourism Association (MITA), Johor Tour Guides Association (JTGA), Malaysian Association of Tour & Travel Agents (MATTA), and the Greater Desaru Tourism Association (GDTA).

Col. Jamal stressed that Visit Johor 2026 is only the beginning. “We are rolling out cross-border roadshows, media engagements, influencer collaborations and new product developments. This campaign isn’t just about numbers — it’s about lasting impressions. We want travellers to return home with unforgettable memories and reasons to come back again and again.”

He also called for unity within the industry. “From hotels and guides to restaurants and transport providers, we must collaborate and innovate. Together, we can make Johor the most welcoming and memorable destination in Malaysia for 2026 and beyond.”

As momentum builds, Johor is not merely preparing for tourists but shaping an authentic, unforgettable experience. The launch of the Visit Johor 2026 car sticker campaign signals Johor’s readiness to shine on the global tourism stage — carrying forward warmth, sincerity, and the spirit of Johor Hospitality.
