Airbnb to open technology hub in Bengaluru

Airbnb, the online housing company, announced the establishment of a new technological hub in Bengaluru on Saturday to assist it to serve its "global community."

The Bengaluru technology hub will strive to create local, skilled jobs, with plans for the center to initially serving a few hundred employees before expanding its footprint in the future, according to the business.

"India is a critical market for Airbnb. Airbnb Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer Nathan Blecharczyk said, "The establishment of this technological hub will continue our ongoing investment in the country and is testament to our long-term strategy for developing our business locally into the future."

"The tech hub we're launching today will strengthen our ability to serve our worldwide community while also creating new opportunities for brilliant local engineers and tech specialists," he added.

The new Bengaluru hub will allow Airbnb to collaborate with "some of India's greatest tech talent while allowing Airbnb to continue to expand our technical underpinnings and build outstanding experiences for guests and hosts on the platform," according to Airbnb Chief Technology Officer Ari Balogh.

According to Airbnb General Manager for India, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, Amanpreet Bajaj, the creation of this new technology hub will provide jobs and career opportunities for brilliant locals while also contributing to the region's developing image as a tech center of excellence.
