Negeri Sembilan:

The state government will be in talks with hotel operators in Negeri Sembilan to offer affordable room prices in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2020 (VM2020).

State Secretary Datuk Razali Ab Malik said they would also be asked to provide attractive packages to encourage more tourists to the state.

“The current economic situation is quite challenging and it can be a challenge in ensuring the arrival of tourists both domestically and abroad.

"Thus, we will ensure that the prices of hotels and accommodation in the state are affordable as well as introducing attractive packages with less expensive prices as attractions," he said.

He said this at a press conference after the Negeri Sembilan TMM2020 Opening Ceremony .

Razali said the state government had allocated about RM8 million in preparation and promotion of TMM2020.

He said the allocation would include upgrading the infrastructure especially in eco-tourism as well as focusing on sports and food in the state.

Meanwhile, Mohd Akbal said the state government had targeted 70 percent of foreign and domestic tourists staying in hotels throughout the state this year.
