MALAYSIA:

The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre) has launched its new creative interaction tool, an immersive virtual tour, which is now available on the venue's website, as part of its digital channel.

Meeting and event planners, as well as tourists from all over the world, can now visit the Centre with only a few clicks.

“This is a massive move for us at the Centre as we begin to transform the way we conduct our business,” said Alan Pryor, the Centre's General Manager. We are able to take our customer interaction to a new level with this interactive virtual tour, meeting the demands of the current marketplace, particularly in these Covid-19 times. Realizing our dream of virtualization has propelled us to the forefront of the business events industry's digital transformation, not just in Malaysia, but also regionally and globally.”

The immersive virtual tour provides an overview of the entire site, with options to self-explore or take a quick guided tour, as well as a deep dive into each function space through 360-view, allowing for a more interactive and visual immersion.

“Our goal for the virtual tour was to give our audience a genuinely dynamic and engaging experience. The virtual tour will be enhanced with visual comparisons to different room set-ups and a video-conference function for live-interaction between the organizer and our team, speeding up the event planning and communication process,” Pryor explained.

The Centre has been selected as the preferred meeting place for a number of international and regional conferences scheduled beyond 2021, and the virtual tour ensures business continuity despite temporary global travel restrictions. Clients, planners, and organizers can now experience a seamless immersive virtual site visit and explore venue space as they schedule and prepare for future events, without having to worry about being unable to physically visit the Centre.

The virtual tour is the most recent update to the Centre's newly revamped website. The Centre's digital concierge, Skye, a Chatbot charged with greeting and assisting users in navigating the website and responding to questions, along with an immersive floorplan, provide a ground-breaking interaction experience for both organizers and tourists.
