MALAYSIA:

Following its participation in the Industry Vaccination Centre (PPVIN) Program, which began today at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) anticipates its employees to be fully vaccinated by the middle of August.

A total of 5,150 vaccines have been allocated for MAG's Kuala Lumpur-based personnel, including Malaysia Airlines, Firefly, Amal, MASkargo, and AeroDarat, according to a statement.

Technical and cabin personnel, as well as customer-facing professionals, will receive their first dose of the Sinovac Covid-19 immunization between July 6 and July 23, and their second dose by mid-August 2021, according to the company. A similar initiative is being developed for its Penang International Airport staff, according to MAG.

Captain Izham Ismail, MAG's chief executive officer, expressed his delight at the opportunity to participate in the PPVIN program at KLIA.
“As part of its continuous commitment to providing a safe working environment, MAG has implemented the MAG Vaccination Policy, which includes making Covid-19 vaccination mandatory for all MAG employees.

"We appreciate the government's prompt delivery of vaccines to our staff, as well as the coordination of a similar program for our employees across Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan in partnership with the District PPV Programs. We have now immunized nearly all of the 1,200 MAG employees in these states. Another 1,200 of our colleagues in Peninsular Malaysia received their first dosage through District PPVs at the same time.

"The resumption of domestic and international air transport and tourism is dependent on vaccination. We remain consistent in our commitment to implementing the highest levels of safety and hygiene in air travel. We believe that flying with a fully vaccinated crew is just as vital as preparing to welcome our passengers to fly with us with confidence,” he said.

MAG also stated that it is continuing to mobilize its personnel from across the company to volunteer at multiple mega immunization centers, including Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil, and the KL Convention Centre, to support the nation's largest Covid-19 immunisation program.

The PPVIN initiative at KLIA aims to make vaccination easier and faster for aviation and other connected businesses.
