MALAYSIA:

Qatar Airways has officially launched a platform that simulates the feeling of flying on its planes. As a result, the visitor can check out the lounges and planes to have a sense of what to expect.

Qverse is his name, and he is a virtual universe that can be found at www.qatarairways.com/QVerse. Guests can use their electronic devices to travel virtually in the Hamad International Airport (HIA) premium check-in area and within cabins, including Qsuite Business Class and Economy Class (PEDs). A virtual hostess guides the visitor around the site, delivering important information (in English) as well as places of interest.

The experience is a cloud-based program for generating lifelike 3D characters, developed with Epic Games' Unreal Engine and MetaHuman Creator.

It is not a virtual reality experience, because the platform can be accessed without a headset, nor is it a metaverse, because it is not decentralized, open, or multiuser, as the airline promises.
