RM2 Mini food festival is now taking place in conjunction with Penang International Food Festival

RM 2 Mini Food Festival held today in accordance Penang International Food Festival (PIFF) that welcomes more than 2 million visitors from 2017 to 2019.

The Festival has also put Penang on the global map when it was recognised by the Guinness World Records for holding the largest food truck rally and the most costume change illusions in one minute. 

The Festival does not only help to generate income for hawkers, F&B operators, and tourism industry but also promotes the food  culture in creative ways that entice festival-goers. 

The RM2 Mini Food Festival provides an affordable choice to the public by serving food in miniature sizes priced only at RM2 from vendors who have been handpicked for the Festival. 

The state government supports PIFF as an effort to promote Butterworth by bringing the RM2 Mini Food Festival to Butterworth.

Further, the Penang State Government has also launched tourism promotional campaigns to promote Butterworth, such as the “Opposite Side of the Island” campaign, which was launched in Q2.

 Other than tourism-related events and products, the Penang State Government is also working on developing Butterworth’s infrastructure. 

Butterworth is home to Penang Sentral, a new transportation hub completed in recent years. Another development in the pipeline is to bring Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts to Butterworth as the flagship hotel for Straits City as an incentivise tourists to come and explore the many treasures.
