The Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), a national voice for business travel, holds a yearly conference bringing together 7,000 professionals from over 50 countries around the world. The GBTA Conference in Denver this year was scheduled to take place from 25-29 July 2020.

However, GBTA will now shift the dates of the GBTA convention 2020 to November 7-11   due to the coronavirus pandemic.

GBTA Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director Scott Solombrino said that this is the first time in GBTA's 52 years of convention that they have to reschedule the signature event.

We are all working to ensure the safety of business travelers and their families. We are hopeful that the pandemic will subside on a global level and that we will be able to help travel managers and sponsors determine how best to revive the industry when we meet in November", he said.

After weeks of meetings with officials in the Denver Convention Center, they decided to rescheduled the gathering as it is no way to hold a healthy, and successful conference in July.

In November the Convention will continue to meet with the State of Colorado, Denver City, and the Convention Center as well as health officials.

"We expect that in the next few months the Pandemic can end so that we will end our ordinary activities. If this is not the case, however, we may have to reverse the convention. I shall keep you aware of the Convention's status", he said.
