MALAYSIA:

For the biggest tourism event, Taipei Tourism Expo (TTE) 2023, Tourism Malaysia is concentrating its marketing efforts in Taiwan to welcome more Taiwanese visitors back to its shores and rekindle their love for discovering more of Malaysia's hidden jewels.

Tourism Malaysia will also take part in the upcoming Kaohsiung International Travel Fair from June 2–5, 2023, in response to the rising demand for travel. On June 6 and 8, Tourism Malaysia will organize destination seminar presentations with Taiwanese travel trade partners in Tainan and Taipei, respectively.

TTE 2023 is an excellent venue for showcasing Malaysia's distinctive tourism offers and engaging with prospective and returning visitors to help them rediscover a taste of Malaysia's sights, cuisines, and rich cultural history while also offering vacation packages at competitive prices.

In addition, Tourism Malaysia is enhancing its relationships with the major associations of tour operators in Taipei, Tainan, and Kaohsiung to create alluring travel packages that are catered to the preferences and interests of the Taiwanese market.

Director-General of Tourism Malaysia, Dato' Dr. Ammar Abd. Ghapar, stated: "We anticipate receiving more than 100,000 Taiwanese tourists to Malaysia this year. Taiwan is one of the key markets for Malaysia's tourist industry, and in 2022, Malaysia registered 48,132 arrivals from Taiwan, demonstrating the significant pent-up demand in the post-pandemic.

To ensure that Malaysia continues to be a popular and top-of-mind destination in this market, our presence here in Taiwan demonstrates our dedication to developing tighter partnerships with our counterparts.

With a contribution of RM49.2 billion (USD 11.1 billion) in tourism receipts, Malaysia hopes to attract 16.1 million foreign visitors in 2023. 64 direct flights connect Taiwan with Malaysia at the moment, and Tourism Malaysia anticipates rapid growth from the Taiwan market, including the North Asian region.
