UNWTO backs Cambodia’s hosting of major meetings on global tourism

CAMBODIA:

The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) expressed its support for Cambodia in hosting the meetings on global tourism, such as the 2023 Global Tourism Forum.


This was expressed in 34th Joint Meeting of the UNWTO Commission for East Asia and the Pacific of the United Nations World Tourism Organization on June 14. The meeting was held with the participation of representatives of 19 member countries.

Try Chhiv, Director of the Department of International and ASEAN Cooperation of the General Department of Tourism Development and International Cooperation, said that after assessing the tourism situation during the COVID-19 crisis and the future outlook on the world, UNWTO supported Cambodia as the host of the commission meetings and roundtables of Asia-Pacific and South Asia tourism and a number of tourism conferences in Cambodia 2023.
 

According to the official of the Ministry of Tourism, in accordance with the permission of the Royal Government of Cambodia, the hosting of the 2023 tourism event will be an opportunity to promote the safety and attractiveness of tourism in Cambodia to international tourists as well as international tourism companies.
