MELAKA:

According to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali, 8.6 million tourists are expected to visit Melaka during the year designated as Visit Melaka.

He stated that the state's intention to reach this number is anticipated to be complemented by the nearly finished Gadek Wellness and Spa Resort.

The resort has eight chalets with private hot spring pools and 20 rooms.

He stated on Monday that "it is anticipated to draw thousands of tourists here, particularly from Germany and Taiwan" (March 20).

According to Sulaiman, the resort's construction was authorized by the 11th Malaysia Plan and cost RM17.9 million to complete on a 4ha land.

He listed 138 iconic tourism destinations in the state, including the resort and hot spring.

The Gadek Hot Spring Complex is a natural hot spring bathing site that contains sulfur, which is said to offer health benefits, and was upgraded utilizing the "wellness and spa" idea, he said.

The project, according to Sulaiman, will also generate 70 new jobs and business prospects for the neighborhood.
